Millwall's Sky Bet League One play-off push suffered a blow as they were held to a dour goalless draw at home to Walsall.
The Lions would have moved to within two points of sixth-place Rochdale with victory at the Den, while Walsall are now six points behind the play-off spots, but have played two games more than the Dale.
Neil Harris' Millwall created more chances but failed to convert, missing their first effort in the fifth minute when Lee Gregory volleyed over after the Saddlers missed several opportunities to clear a Jed Wallace corner.
Florent Cuvelier had a long-range effort well held by Millwall goalkeeper Jordan Archer before Steve Morison headed wide from Shane Ferguson's cross down at the other end.
Joe Edwards sliced well wide during a Saddlers foray forward eight minutes into the second half, while the Lions lacked ideas to break the deadlock.
An all-too-rare attempt on goal with nine minutes left saw Aiden O'Brien's long-range effort fly high over and the final whistle blew with the teams looking as if they could have played until the weekend and still delivered a stalemate.
