Southend will check on defender Anton Ferdinand, who has just returned to action following a calf problem, ahead of the visit of second-placed Bradford.

Midfielder Anthony Wordsworth is available again having served a one-match suspension for the win at Bury, while defender Jason Demetriou is back from international duty with Cyprus.

Forward Nile Ranger, who scored twice at Gigg Lane, has been carrying a groin problem, so will be assessed, but David Mooney remains sidelined by a foot injury.

On-loan Crystal Palace defender Ryan Inniss is set for around three months out after needing surgery on a dislocated shoulder.

Bradford boss Stuart McCall must decide whether to recall Colin Doyle to his starting line-up.

Goalkeeper Doyle has missed two games while on duty for the Republic of Ireland.

Forward Vincent Rabiega will be sidelined for up to 10 days due to a muscle strain and defender Tony McMahon is scheduled to return to full training on Monday following a thigh injury.
