Leeds have cooled their interest in Middlesbrough forward Rudy Gestede, according to Sky sources.
Sky Sports News understands Leeds made an approach to Boro over a potential deal for the Benin international last week, but are now pursuing other targets as they attempt to find a replacement for Chris Wood.
Wood, who scored 44 goals in 88 appearances for Leeds, completed a £15m move to Burnley last week and netted a stoppage-time equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.
Gestede only joined Middlesbrough from Aston Villa in January, but has since struggled to find any consistent goalscoring form and has netted just four times in 22 appearances.
Leeds head coach Thomas Christiansen has made 12 signings this summer and will attempt to add further before the close of the transfer window on Thursday.
The Sky Bet Championship side have made an unbeaten start to the new season and currently sit third in the table, four points behind leaders Cardiff.
