Leeds' option to buy Pontus Jansson outright kicked in on Wednesday when he started against Nottingham Forest.
Agent Martin Dahlin confirmed in January the clause in Jansson's loan deal from Torino which allows Leeds to sign him for £3.5m would be activated after 22 appearances.
And that landmark was reached when the defender was restored to Garry Monk's side for Wednesday's Championship game after completing a two-match suspension.
Neither Leeds nor Torino have not commented on the details of Jansson's deal, but Dahlin told the Yorkshire Evening Post on January 4 that personal terms for a full-time contract are already agreed.
And Jansson has confirmed he wants to stay, telling Swedish newspaper Sydsvenskan: "I know that the clubs are in discussion, so we'll see what happens. My agent takes care of all that, so I can concentrate on football.
"My time in Italy was damn good for my development, but it feels like I found right now in England.
"It's the kind of football that suits me best. I play every game and I am important for the team."
