Season review
Hull were widely written off at the start of the season after a chaotic summer left them with a threadbare squad and no manager. Acting boss Mike Phelan did enough to earn a permanent deal in October, but at the time of his sacking three months later, the Tigers were bottom of the table.
His successor Marco Silva arrived in England as a relative unknown and there was plenty of scepticism when previously key players Robert Snodgrass and Jake Livermore were sold in an immediate squad overhaul, but results soon improved.
Hull won twice as many Premier League games under Silva as they did under Phelan. There was a memorable home victory over Liverpool and a goalless draw away to Manchester United - but ultimately they couldn't do enough. The 7-1 thrashing by Spurs was a bitterly disappointing way to finish the season, and Silva's future is far from certain.

Managerial review
I don't think many of us gave them a chance of staying up and I'd be surprised if Marco Silva didn't get a offer at a higher club than Hull. You'd think he wouldn't extend his contract there unless the investment was there for him, which wasn't available to Mike Phelan.
Player of the season: Eldin Jakupovic
I think Jakupovic is the one who would stand out for me from the games I've seen. I think a couple of the lads who came in the January transfer window did a good job but can't be considered for the player of the season.
2017/18 prospects
They certainly need improvement in the forward areas because nobody really scored enough to help their chances of staying up. It's going to depend on their activity in the transfer market and indeed who is in charge to really say whether they can come straight back up.
