Hull manager Marco Silva says his side put in their best performance of the season against Middlesbrough on Wednesday.

Hull defeated Middlesbrough 4-2 to move out of the relegation zone and into 17th place after Swansea lost 3-1 to Tottenham.

Despite Boro scoring two in the opening 45 minutes, Hull scored three goals in the first half through Lazar Markovic, Oumar Niasse and Abel Hernandez before defender Harry Maguire killed the game off with his 69th-minute header.

Hull dominated the game for large spells and restricted Middlesbrough to minimal amounts of chances in the second half. Silva believes it was the best performance he has seen from his team so far.

"It was a very good performance. I felt that was our best game," he told Sky Sports after the match.

"We had very good moments of football. In the second half, we controlled the game.

"I don't remember the opponent having one shot on our goal. We scored one more goal [in the second half] to make us more comfortable in the game. It's clear to me we deserved this victory."

However, despite the Tigers achieving a remarkable 17 points since Silva took over in January, the Portuguese manager believes his team still has to do more to improve and climb higher up the table.
