Hull City are expecting the imminent signing of Olympiakos right-back Omar Elabdellaoui, Sky sources understand.
It is understood a loan deal for the Norway international until the end of the season, with a view to a possible permanent transfer, is expected before the weekend, with the club set to take on Chelsea, live on Sky Sports 1 HD on Sunday.
Elabdellaoui, 25, began his career at Manchester City but after several loan spells away from the club, he moved to Eintracht Braunschweig in 2013 on a permanent deal.
The defender has since moved to Olympiakos, where he has made 46 league appearances, but Elabdellaoui could now be in line for a return to English football with Hull manager Marco Silva keen to add to the squad in a bid to steer his side away from the relegation zone.
However, the club could face a battle to hold onto midfielder Jake Livermore, with West Bromwich Albion having launched a bid for the former Tottenham player, according to Sky sources.
