Hull City striker Abel Hernandez will be sidelined for around a month with the groin injury he sustained in the win over Southampton.

The Uruguayan international was substituted after nine minutes of the 2-1 win for the Tigers, in which goals from Robert Snodgrass and Michael Dawson ended a run of six straight defeats for Mike Phelan's side.

Hernandez has been withdrawn from the Uruguay squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Chile.

Hull have also sent striker Will Keane for further tests to establish the extent of his knee injury, which also saw him substituted during the Southampton game.

Keane went down holding his knee during the first half of Sunday's game and swelling around the damaged area means a full diagnosis is unlikely to come until next week.

"Keane is the worst of the two, it's a case of wait and see," said Phelan.
