Tony Cottee recaps Hull City's opening-day victory over defending champions Leicester City at the KCOM Stadium.

Mike Phelan's side recorded a surprise win against the Foxes thanks to brilliant goals either side of half-time from Adama Diomande and Robert Snodgrass.

The newly promoted team took the lead in first-half stoppage time via a wonder strike from Norway international forward Diomande, who executed a sensational overhead kick into the back of the Leicester net.

However, Leicester drew level after being awarded a penalty just 19 seconds into the second half after Tom Huddlestone was adjudged to have tripped Demarai Gray right on the edge of the box.

Referee Mike Dean had no hesitation in pointing to the spot, though, with Riyad Mahrez keeping his cool by sending Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic the wrong way.
