Hull City have suffered another injury blow, with captain Michael Dawson ruled out for three months.

The defender sustained a knee ligament injury in the pre-season win at Mansfield Town on Tuesday night and will wear a leg brace for the next six weeks.

Tigers boss Steve Bruce, who spoke to the Football Association this week over the vacant England manager's job, is already without Moses Odubajo and Alex Bruce for the start of the Premier League campaign.

Bruce had surgery on his foot last Thursday and faces up to six months on the sidelines, while full-back Odubajo could also be out for up to six months with a ruptured medial knee ligament he suffered in the pre-season friendly against Grimsby Town on Friday.

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor had surgery on his back on Tuesday and is expected to return to training in the New Year.
