Riyad Mahrez takes part in training ahead of Manchester City game
Friday 9 February 2018 19:50, UK
Riyad Mahrez has taken part in full Leicester training for the first time since the transfer window closed.
The Algeria international had been absent since a possible transfer to Manchester City failed to materialise during the January transfer window.
But Mahrez was back at Leicester's training ground on Friday, where he was seen smiling and laughing with his team-mates.
On Friday, Leicester released a statement which read: "Riyad Mahrez has today (Friday) returned to training with the Leicester City squad.
"Riyad remains a greatly valued member of Claude Puel's squad and is focused, together with his teammates, on achieving further success with Leicester City."
Mahrez has made himself available for Leicester's match on Saturday against Manchester City, Sky sources understand, but, speaking on Thursday, manager Claude Puel said the Algerian would not be involved in the Sky Live game at the Etihad.

"I think Riyad will be not available," said Puel. "I hope he can get his head right and come back with us and work hard. The best way is to come back and enjoy his football."
Mahrez last played for the Foxes in the 2-0 win over Watford on January 20 and scored the second goal in stoppage-time.
He was an unused substitute the following week in the 5-1 FA Cup victory at Peterborough but was omitted from the matchday squad for the 2-1 defeat at Everton in the Premier League and the 1-1 home draw with Swansea.
