Claude Puel insists he is happy for Leonardo Ulloa following his move on loan to Brighton but refused to confirm whether the striker had a future at Leicester.
It was confirmed on Monday that Ulloa would return to the club he left in 2014 on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
Ulloa was part of the Leicester side that won the Premier League in 2016, but has featured in only four of their league matches this season.
Asked whether the Argentinian had a future at the King Power Stadium, Puel said: "We will see. It was a good opportunity for him to have more game-time.
"He needed to play because he is an experienced player with quality. It will be interesting to look at his performances and we will see at the end of the season.
"I am happy for him because he is a good man and a good player."
Puel was speaking just two days after his side thrashed Peterborough 5-1 in the FA Cup fourth round, during which Fousseni Diabate scored twice on his debut.
Diabate joined Leicester from GFC Ajaccio in January, and Puel was full of praise for the player he spotted while watching his son Gregoire play.
He said: "He can give opportunities for the team for the future. Of course I am happy with his game. It was a perfect introduction to England.
"But he is just a young player and we need to have patience with him.
"I saw him when following my son. I gave this name because I think the player can give good attributes."
