Claude Puel says his Leicester City team still have to improve despite their comprehensive 4-1 win over his former club Southampton on Wednesday night.
Two Shinji Okazaki goals along with strikes from Riyad Mahrez and Andy King helped Leicester ease to the three points at St Mary's, but Puel wants more from his side, who have now won four consecutive games.
"All is not perfect. We need to correct some things, we need to continue to improve and always progress," Puel said.
It was the most impressive victory of Puel's tenure, in both scoreline and performance, as Southampton could not deal with the Foxes on the break.
"My team is the most important thing. I approve of my players because we gave a fantastic game, a very good first half for example. It was important to maintain the result in the second half."
Southampton came into the game off the back of a late draw with Arsenal and a last-minute loss to Manchester City in recent games, making their substandard efforts the more surprising to Puel.
"I think it's a good team with very good players and they deserve all the results against City or against Arsenal and all our team were ready to play a strong game against this team. It's a very good result for us."
Man of the match Okazaki was brought into the starting line-up following his impressive display against Newcastle, as Puel decided to shuffle his pack as he tries to learn more about his team.
"It was important to give game time for players, like Shinji. I think it's important to see all the possibility of the team and sometimes make some changes.
"If we have the ability to maintain the good results with some changes for every game, then it will be good for the future."
Puel did not take any extra joy in beating the club who sacked him in the summer, instead seeing it as a good opportunity to see friends at St Mary's.
"It was nice to see familiar faces when I came back here, I have a lot of friends. I appreciated all the players, all the staff and it was a good moment to see them. It's one result and I am sure they will come back for the next games."
