In the end, Leicester agreed to loan Wague from Udinese, even though the Italian club had him on a long-term loan from Spanish side Granada.

In effect, the Foxes had to negotiate separate deals with Granada and Udinese to get the deal over the line.

Sky sources reported on Monday night that the two clubs were in talks over a deal for the Mali defender, with the Foxes keen to strengthen in defence this month.
