Claudio Ranieri hailed his Leicester players after their incredible ascent to the Premier League title was completed.

Tottenham's failure to win at Ranieri's former club Chelsea handed the Foxes an historic first top-flight title in the club's 132-year history.

Ranieri said: "I'm so proud. I'm happy for my players, for the chairman, for the staff at Leicester City, all our fans and the Leicester community.

"It's an amazing feeling and I'm so happy for everyone. The players have been fantastic. They deserve to be champions.

Ranieri flew back to the Midlands from Italy just before the Monday Night Football clash at Stamford Bridge and was able to watch the 2-2 draw before releasing a statement.
