Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri says he always believed his side could get a breakthrough against Norwich, even though the title chasers were kept at bay for much of the afternoon.
Having lost to a late goal at Arsenal in their previous match, the Premier League leaders were close to another setback when they entered the 89th-minute locked at 0-0 with the struggling Canaries.
However, substitute Leonardo Ulloa arrived at the back post to convert a Marc Albrighton cross and completely change the mood at the King Power.
Leicester now find themselves five points clear at the top ahead of Sunday's matches and Ranieri says he and his side never gave up.
"From the beginning, it was a difficult match," said the Leicester boss. "Norwich played very, very compact and in a defensive way.
"But, in the second half, for the last 20 minutes, it was an open match. We can score, they can score, we can score, they can score. Finally, we scored a goal.
"We believed until the end. That is a very, very important thing. We wanted to restart after the Arsenal defeat, and three points are very important.
"Always, I believe, because we put this mentality into our players, 'we must believe until the end'. Against Arsenal, we conceded a goal, today we won the match.
"It is important to be patient, to be solid, to maintain clean sheets, and then you can win at the end of the match."
The likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez usually star for Leicester but on this occasion it was Ulloa who took the accolades.
And Ranieri added: "Fortunately, I have fantastic players. They train very well during the week, and we want to win.
"Ulloa is a fantastic player. This season he didn't play a lot but, when he does, he plays fantastic."
Leicester's bid for an unlikely title remains very much on track but Ranieri remains resolute in his determination not to get carried away and says his side have had a fantastic season.
"I hope to win something but already we won, because we are safe and now we are dreaming." he said.
"Our fans, from the beginning, we dream. We work hard every match and today is an example."
