Norwich City manager Alex Neil has revealed he would like to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes.
Neil has brought in five new signings since the club gained promotion from the Championship via the play-offs but insists there is still room to add to his team.
Speaking ahead of their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on Saturday, Neil said: “I think we have a highly competitive squad. There are still a couple of areas I would like to strengthen."
The former Hamilton boss has already signed Graham Dorrans and Youssuf Mulumbu from West Brom, as well as bringing in Hull’s Robbie Brady and Jake Kean following the goalkeeper's release from Blackburn.
Neil has also signed Andre Wisdom on loan from Liverpool.
Although Neil does not expect to bring anyone in before the weekend, he has been linked with Dynamo Kiev striker Dieumerci Mbokani and Porto midfielder Juan Fernando Quientero.
Neil refused to be drawn on talk of a move for Quientero but did confirm Mbokani is a striker the club have looked at.
“It’s difficult but things are ongoing at the moment," he said. “To be honest at this time things change day to day, with different targets and speaking to different people. But we are still working on things.”
