Norwich City hold promotion parade to celebrate Championship title

Norwich's Sky Bet Championship-winning squad were greeted by thousands of the club's supporters ahead of their promotion parade through the city centre

Norwich celebrated their return to the Premier League with a promotion parade through the city centre on Monday morning.

The Canaries won 2-1 at Aston Villa on Sunday to seal the Sky Bet Championship title, finishing five points ahead of second-placed Sheffield United.

Supporters gathered outside Norwich City Hall, where players and club staff were interviewed on a balcony before embarking on an open-top bus parade.

Norwich fans were full of praise for their title-winning squad

"It's ridiculous to be honest," said midfielder Todd Cantwell, who is from Norwich.

"It feels so surreal to look at. That could have easily been me stood down there.

"So I'm over the moon to be stood in the position I am now."

Thousands of fans lined the streets as the bus made its way through the city centre, with head coach Daniel Farke leading the celebrations.

"It's really outstanding what this club and these supporters and this place has achieved during this season," Farke said as he fought back tears.

"All words are right. So world class, special, unique, extraordinary. We are all unbelievably proud."

Following the parade, players and supporters alike made their way to Carrow Road for a celebration match for club legends Wes Hoolahan and Russell Martin.
