Norwich confirm striker Dieumerci Mbokani 'unharmed but shaken' after Brussels Airport attack

Norwich have confirmed that Dieumerci Mbokani was at Zaventem Airport at the time of Tuesday morning's deadly explosions.

In a statement, the club said that the striker was "unharmed but shaken" by the events in Brussels.

There have been multiple fatalities and a number of injuries in the Belgian capital, after two explosions hit the airport on the outskirts of the city, while a third blast ripped through Maalbeek Metro station in the city centre.

Striker Mbokani, a Democratic of Congo international, spent much of his career in Belgium, spending a year with Brussels-based side Anderlecht a decade ago.

He then moved to Standard Liege in 2007, spending three years there before returning to Anderlecht for a second spell in 2011.

Norwich added that Mbokani had subsequently returned home to be with his family.

The Belgium national team had earlier cancelled Tuesday's training session in the wake of the news, with the team scheduled to face Portugal in a friendly in Brussels next week.
