Burnley boss Sean Dyche claimed the referee made an "impossible" decision not to give his side a penalty in the 0-0 draw at Huddersfield.
The controversial moment came on the hour mark when Clarets midfielder Jeff Hendrick seemed to be caught by Town goalkeeper Jonas Lossl's trailing leg after dribbling around him.
Referee Paul Tierney waved away Burnley's protests but also decided against booking the Irishman for simulation.
Dyche was clearly unhappy with the decision, both at the time and after the game, and suggested that Hendrick might have won the penalty had he gone down in a more theatrical manner.
"I don't think I need to say too much about it because hopefully everyone will see it and hopefully it will be shown again and again because it is impossible to not give us a penalty in my opinion," Dyche said.
"I'm in a league where penalties are given for all sorts of reasons and that is as blatant a penalty as you will see.
"I think what is peculiar about football at the minute is that players who go down in a diving manner get them. Jeff Hendrick hasn't done that, he's gone down in a really natural manner and hasn't got it.
"His back foot was clearly taken away from him and everyone on the pitch can see it apart from the most important person, who didn't."
Video Assistant Referees (VAR) could be brought into the Premier League from next season and will be trialled during Brighton's FA Cup third-round game against Crystal Palace next month.
When asked whether or not VAR would have made a difference, Dyche said: "There is a lot at stake in these games and I think it is a natural progression to suggest that VAR will play its part in the future."
Burnley have impressed away from home this season, taking 17 points in total, and they created by far the best chances at the John Smith's Stadium, with Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Steven Defour and Nahki Wells all going close to scoring.
Dyche said: "It was a dominant performance. We were very creative today, Nakhi Wells had that chance at the end, Johann [Gudmundsson], Scott Arfield and Steven Defour all had good chances.
"We've got to be careful with what we think about Burnley, that's three points in our last three away games, another clean sheet and it is 17 points away from home. Not many people gave us that chance at the start of the season."
