Sean Dyche has brushed off speculation that he will be the next Everton manager, saying he is focused on the job in hand at Burnley.
Dyche is one of the bookmakers' favourites to replace Ronald Koeman, who was sacked on Monday after Everton won just two of their previous fourteen matches.
However, while acknowledging the speculation, Dyche sought to play it down.
"I've just continued to get on with what I do here, and that's the focus," he said.
"I've had the experience of those sorts of links at various times - more so in the last couple of years.
"You're always flattered because it recognises the work that myself, my players, my staff do."
Dyche will celebrate his five-year anniversary at Turf Moor on Monday, and will hope to do so with a victory over Newcastle, live on Sky Sports from 7pm.
The Burnley boss has admitted he has achieved far more at the club than he originally thought possible.
Talking of Burnley's success in his five years at the club, Dyche said: "It has surprised me. When I first came here, it was a club regaining control financially. There was a lot of trimming to be done, a lot of reorganising.
"We got the first promotion against all odds. In the Premier League we reorganised the club off the pitch.
"Then to come back up after going down is a marvellous achievement. To take the title after going 23 games unbeaten is something I'll look back on for many years to come."
Dyche arrived at the club when they were mid-table in the Championship, and has since led them to the Premier League on two occasions. They currently lie eighth in the top flight after nine games.
Dyche's success at Turf Moor is not the only thing that has surprised him - he also did not expect to spend five years in the same job.
He said: "In the modern world of football, I'm surprised I've been here five years. There are so many differentials now that you never know.
"The demands now are far higher. The biggest thing is the misalignment of expectation. There's such a divide at clubs between reality and what they think is reality.
"When I first got here, I worked really hard through the media to tell the truth against the perception of what the club was."
