Sean Dyche hailed his Burnley players after they earned a 1-1 draw against Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.
Chris Wood scored his first Clarets goal since his £15m move from Leeds to secure a point for the visitors, who had fallen behind to Dele Alli's opener.
Burnley frustrated Tottenham in the first half and responded well to Alli's strike, battling back to equalise through record signing Wood in stoppage time.
Dyche praised his team for sticking to their game-plan against a strong Tottenham side.
He said: "It is a very difficult task, coming to Tottenham. They are a fine side. I know there is something made of the stadium but all that stuff, there is still a fine group of players there.
"We knew at times we would have to be patient and stick to our tactical plan. That worked somewhat and then they got a goal from a really scruffy situation. I thought we rose after that and from then we were absolutely terrific."
Dyche introduced Wood and Ashley Barnes shortly after Spurs' goal and the Clarets boss also moved Robbie Brady from the left flank to the right.
The changes had the desired impact as Brady went close in the final stages before setting up Wood for the dramatic leveller.
"Sometimes the game pans out how you want it to," Dyche added. "Obviously you don't want them to score but we thought if we could keep it tight and then affect it from the bench later on, that might be a positive situation for us.
"It is not always that easy and it doesn't always work. But today it did because I thought there was a continued endeavour from the side and the changes had a real big effect today.
"The fitness of my players was absolutely terrific, they were still going strong at the end.
"Robbie put a fine pass in, we know Robbie has quality. He took a bit of time to adapt to us last season but he came back for pre-season with a real thirst for doing well and he has certainly started well.
"But what a finish too, a great run as well. There were many pleasing things today.
"I must mention Tom Heaton as well, he made two or three great saves when it was very important, and their goalkeeper [Hugo Lloris] made a worldie [save] from Robbie."
Having taken four points from early-season trips to Chelsea and Spurs, Dyche said: "I think we are continuing to grow. We are adding layers to the team and getting slightly stronger.
"There still needs to be slightly more belief in some players, and that comes with playing in the Premier League. We are moving forwards."
And on the impact made by Wood, making his first Premier League appearance for his new club, Dyche added: "I want him to enjoy his football.
"He is still learning, he is 25 and we know there is more to come."
