Burnley fixtures: Premier League 2016/17

Burnley fixtures

Newly-promoted Burnley will begin their 2016/17 campaign back in the Premier League against Swansea City at Turf Moor on August 13.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool will present a tough early challenge on August 20 when Sean Dyche's men travel to Anfield and that is followed by a trip to Chelsea a week later.

A busy festive period sees Burnley host Middlesbrough on December 26 and Sunderland on December 31, before travelling to the Etihad Stadium to face Pep Guardiola's Man City on January 2.

During the final month of the season the Clarets will host West Bromwich Albion on May 6 before visiting Bournemouth on May 13. They host West Ham on the final day of the season.

Burnley chief executive David Baldwin has been speaking to Sky Sports News HQ about his side's opening fixture against Swansea - and he fancies his side's chances against Francesco Guidolin's men.

He said: "It's great to get a first game at home this season. No disrespect to Swansea, but when you look at the Chelseas and Manchester Uniteds of this world…Every fixture in the Premier League will be difficult, but it's nice to get the first one at home. And it's nice to get one where we can certainly compete."
