Ipswich have opened talks with Brentford over a deal for Alan Judge, Sky Sports News understands.
The 30-year-old midfielder has entered the final six months of his contract at Griffin Park and the Bees are willing to let him go for his valuation.
Should he complete a move to Portman Road, it would see his new home ground become the scene of his devastating leg break suffered in a challenge by Luke Hyam in 2016.
Judge was kept out for a year and nine months after the tackle, which caused multiple fractures and required surgery, but Hyam has since moved on to Southend.
Ipswich have already signed former West Ham defender James Collins on a deal until the end of the season.
The 35-year-old arrived as a free agent after being forced to cancel a short-term deal with Aston Villa last month due to a shoulder injury.
Former Tottenham and Derby winger Simon Dawkins also joined Ipswich as a free agent earlier this week while Huddersfield's Collin Quaner has been brought in on a loan deal until the end of the season.
