Roy Hodgson was disappointed with two big misses from James McArthur and Michy Batshuayi in Crystal Palace's 1-1 draw with West Ham.
Palace had 25 shots against the Hammers with only one of them converted by Wilfried Zaha as the points were shared at Selhurst Park.
McArthur and Batshuayi both spurned golden chances to pull Palace level before Zaha's 76th-minute equaliser and Hodgson expected at least one of them to hit the back of the net.
"If you don't miss chances, and we took every chance we got, every game would end 10-8," he told Sky Sports.
"But I was disappointed in them. I really did think with the James McArthur one and the Michy Batshuayi one we were definitely going to score.
"Other chances we created the goalkeeper (Lukasz Fabianski) was very good.
"He made a lot of saves as opposed to ours who was rarely called into action, but unfortunately he found himself the victim of a penalty shout where the referee decided against him, but it was a harsh shout I thought."
Luka Milivojevic appeared fortunate not to be sent off in the second half by referee Craig Pawson for a strong tackle on Mark Noble, but Hodgson felt the Serbia international was harshly awarded his initial yellow for tripping up Javier Hernandez.
He added: "It was very strange that we picked up three yellow cards in the first half for fouls that we committed throughout the game.
"I saw a lot of other fouls which were similar in kind to the ones that got yellow cards so I don't think he was lucky [not to get sent off] at all. It was pretty unlucky that he got the first one."
