Crystal Palace are interested in Leicester’s Demarai Gray and are open to a swap deal involving Andros Townsend, Sky sources understand.
Frank de Boer wants Gray to bolster his attacking options as he continues to develop a more progressive, passing style at Palace.
But Leicester are adamant they do not want to sell Gray and are currently negotiating a new contract with the England U21 international.
Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare likes Townsend, and the club spoke to Palace about the England international earlier in the window.
But Sky sources understand the asking price of over £25m was too much for Leicester to consider and their interest and has now moved on.
Townsend's representatives have also told Sky Sports News that their player will not be involved in any swap deals and that, if he leaves, it will be a straight cash offer.
Leicester rejected a bid of £20m from Bournemouth for Gray earlier in this window. Sky sources understand Bournemouth retain an interest in Gray and could move for him if Leicester signal he is for sale.
Tottenham and Everton have also been interested in Gray this summer.
