Crystal Palace have turned their attentions to Liverpool striker Christian Benteke after failing in their bid to sign Michy Batshuayi, according to Sky sources.
Benteke joined Liverpool last summer, signing from Aston Villa for £32.5m, but his future at Anfield has been in doubt since the arrival of Jurgen Kloop as Brendan Rodgers' successor.
The 25-year-old, who is currently with Belgium at Euro 2016, made only eight starts under Klopp and said in March he found it difficult to understand why the German "ignores him".
Benteke, whose contract at Liverpool expires in 2020, may find first team opportunities limited even further under Klopp next season following the arrival of forward Sadio Mane from Southampton.
Palace manager Alan Pardew is keen to bolster his forward options after releasing Emmanuel Adebayor and Marouane Chamakh and allowing Dwight Gayle to join Newcastle.
The Eagles failed in their attempts to sign Benteke's international team-mate Batshuayi from Marseille earlier this week after launching a club record £31.5m bid, according to Sky sources.
Batshuayi, who was also wanted by Tottenham and West Ham, passed a medical in Bordeaux on Wednesday ahead of a £33.2m move to Chelsea.
