Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has played down his latest injury scare after hurting his ankle during training on Friday.
The 23-year-old missed the Potters' 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on Saturday after being sent for scans.
The injury was to the same ankle Butland broke during England's 3-2 friendly victory over Germany in March - which forced him to miss Euro 2016 - and that was a cause of concern for the player and his club.
However, the scans showed the injury is not too serious and Butland expects to be "back soon".
He tweeted on Saturday: "Great news from my scans, ankle is solid but I've damaged some scar tissue which is giving me the pain, will settle down quick, back soon.
"But for now rest it up and get ready for the boys to kick off the season well."
Shay Given deputised for Butland against Boro at the Riverside and Stoke boss Mark Hughes also delivered an upbeat bulletin on his goalkeeper after the game.
"We were a bit fearful yesterday, to be perfectly honest. But those fears have been allayed somewhat," said the Welshman.
"Jack hasn't re-damaged the ankle in terms of the fracture. He's just had a bang on the front capsule of the ankle and it should settle down in the next two or three weeks."
Stoke host Manchester City next Saturday before away games against Stevenage in the EFL Cup and Everton in the Premier League.
They are then at home to Tottenham on September 10, which comes after the international break when England travel to Slovakia on September 4 for Sam Allardyce's first game in charge - a match which Butland may not now be available for.
