Stoke City have agreed a £13m fee for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen, Sky sources understand.
Allen has been at Liverpool since 2012 but was in and out of Jurgen Klopp's first team after the German took over from Brendan Rodgers in October, 2015.
Allen made the majority of his appearances off the bench and ended the season, which was partially affected by injury, with only eight Premier League starts.
The former Swansea midfielder is out of contract at the end of the 2016-17 season and Klopp said last week he was looking into Allen's position at the club, where there is plenty of competition for a midfield place.
The German would not comment on the Stoke offer after his side's 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Wednesday, saying: "We cannot comment because we couldn't do anything else all day so we shouldn't start with this.
"I feel good (about Joe). I like the guy and I really think he is a wonderful football player. I knew this before the European Championships, I saw it during the Euros and I know it now.
"I have said all I can say about this. It is all about respecting contracts, negotiating or not - whatever - and making a transfer or not."
Stoke boss Mark Hughes has been quiet in the transfer market so far this summer but midfield is an area of concern with Stephen Ireland (broken leg) and Ibrahim Affelay (cruciate ligament) already on the sidelines long-term.
