Mark Hughes says he has unfinished business at Stoke City and is not interested in the vacant Everton job.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's final game of the season at home to West Ham, live on Sky Sports 3, Hughes insisted he was happy to continue at the Britannia Stadium, but also confirmed that Stephen Ireland would be out for up to nine months after he broke his leg on Tuesday.
Following Roberto Martinez's dismissal on Thursday, though, speculation has been rife as to who could take over at Goodison Park.
Hughes said: "I'm one of the more experienced managers in the Premier League so maybe it isn't surprising to see my name up there.
"I'm more than happy here and looking forward to next season. We've a lot of good things going on and my job certainly isn't finished.
"I feel sorry for Roberto Martinez, who is a really engaging guy. Unfortunately for him, they have decided to go in a different way."
Stoke will be desperate to end the season on a high having lost four and drawn twice in their last six Premier League matches.
They are still 10th though, reflecting overall another satisfactory campaign, and Hughes added: "We still have an opportunity, if we do our job and results go our way, of finishing ninth again.
"We reached our first League Cup semi-final for 40 or 50 years and won more away games than we have in the Premier League before.
"We've had a poor spell of injuries, especially towards the end. Overall we are pleased though and we feel we are progressing."
Regarding midfielder Ireland, who was injured during a training session on Tuesday morning, Hughes said: "He's suffered a double fracture, which is incredibly rare. It looks like he will be out for eight to nine months."
