Stoke boss Mark Hughes says the 2-1 defeat to West Brom was a missed opportunity for his side and he was disappointed with their performance.
Jonny Evans scored a stoppage-time winner for the hosts after Stoke had earlier seen Geoff Cameron sent off for a shove on Claudio Yacob.
The loss was made more frustrating for Hughes as it followed on from impressive displays in back-to-back wins over Manchester United and Everton.
"I thought it was a chance missed today, a good opportunity, we've been playing well and we didn't really take it and that's the disappointment for us," Hughes said.
"The team that made the best use of their chances [won], I think. It was a poor quality game, not a lot of quality play on show for both teams, I'd suggest.
"In fairness, West Brom probably attacked the game a little bit more as you'd expect being the home team but I was disappointed with what we produced, to be perfectly honest."
The Stoke boss was also unhappy with the sending off of Cameron and, in particular, the reaction of Yacob.
"We weren't too enamoured with the lad Yacob," Hughes added. "I thought he made a meal of it but I'm not sure about that, we'll probably appeal it.
"He's a little bit late on Geoff unfortunately and Geoff got a bad bang in the first half so he's got caught again in the same area and he's just pushed him, with his left arm I think and the lad's gone down clutching the back of his neck.
"That's two games against West Brom and we've had three players sent off and we're not too happy with the behaviour of the West Brom players in those circumstances but that's not really the reason we got beat today.
"We didn't perform as well as we know we can do but we're disappointed with certain incidents."
Stoke must now refocus their attentions on the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final against Liverpool on Tuesday and Hughes is confident his side can bounce back quickly.
"We've got a big game on Tuesday, we've got time now and we'll get everybody in tomorrow, pick ourselves up and we'll go again," Hughes added.
"When we do disappoint ourselves more often than not we bounce back immediately so that's what we need to do on Tuesday."
