Claude Puel heaped praise on his entire squad after his much-changed Southampton side won 3-1 away at south-coast rivals Bournemouth.
Puel made six alterations to the Saints side he fielded in Wednesday's goalless draw at Stoke and on first glance it looked to be a rash decision as Bournemouth took an early lead through Nathan Ake.
But Ryan Bertrand's quick reply and Jay Rodriguez's first Premier League double since March 2014 completed the turnaround and a second away win of the season for Puel's men.
"I enjoyed for all the players and all of the squad," Puel told Sky Sports. "Just before Christmas it's a good moment for everyone to enjoy. The result was deserved.
"The game was difficult in the first half, there was a good balance between the two teams but in the second half, which we started with good energy and spirit, it was a very good half for us.
"We had a good answer (to falling behind). We have had four games with good spirit after being eliminated from the Europa League.
"It was difficult to come in the Premier League after a big disappointment so all that shows good spirit and attitude of our players.
"It's deserved for all of the squad because we've changed a lot of the team at the start and they came up with a good answer so I'm happy for all of the squad today."
The game swung in Southampton's favour early in the second half as half-time substitute Steven Davis had an instant impact, teeing up Rodriguez for his first.
And Puel singled out Davis and Rodriguez for their performances, adding: "Davis brings experience as he is a technical, quality player.
"He helped us start the second half with energy and that pushed the team forward. You could see that with the second goal and his entrance was important and clinical for the team.
"I'm happy for the players, especially Jay, who scored two goals. I am happy for him.
"It's been difficult for him with his long injury. He came back step by step and filled in for the injured Charlie Austin.
"Every time he works hard for the team with good movement and pressing. It's a pleasure to see him happy after scoring two goals and producing a very good performance."
