Southampton manager Claude Puel was satisfied with his side's point after they held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Nathan Redmond gave the visitors a first-half lead after latching onto John Stones' poor back pass but substitute Kelechi Iheanacho struck back for City in the second-half to earn a share of the spoils.
And Puel, who saw his side lose 1-0 to inter Milan in the San Siro on Thursday, was delighted with his side's performance.
"I'm very satisfied," he told Sky Sports. "I enjoyed it for my players because we worked very well with a good defensive organisation.
"It's an interesting point for us because we can see the solidarity of our team. There was a good spirit but we can keep the ball a little better.
"I am happy for my players because of all the hard work they've put in this afternoon."
Puel revealed his side finished the game extremely tired after coming into the clash against City with just two days recovery time following their Europa League exploits.
Despite their slender defeat in Milan, Southampton have been in excellent form in the Premier League, conceding just one goal in their last four games prior to Sunday's draw.
When asked if his side could have come away with more against City, Puel said:"I'm not disappointed because City are a very good team.
"It was a strong game. It's difficult to play against this team because their individual players can prove to be the difference.
"We played with just two days recovery after our game against Inter Milan. It's difficult and we've finished this game very tired. I'm very satisfied with this point."
