Charlie Nicholas reviews Southampton's 1-1 draw against Watford on the opening weekend of the Premier League season...
Nathan Redmond struck on his debut to secure a point for Claude Puel in his first competitive match in charge, cancelling out Etienne Capoue's first-half opener.
Watford, who also had a new head coach in the dugout in Walter Mazzarri, were forced to hold on in the final stages after substitute Ben Watson was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
Redmond had a potential late winner ruled out for offside and the visitors managed to weather heavy pressure to salvage a draw.
Speaking on Soccer Saturday after the match, Nicholas said: "I think Puel will be quite content. The first half Southampton were rather poor and Watford were excellent. The visitors looked far more settled and balanced.
"[Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg was very positive when he came on, if you have vision and can see things then great. He was bold with his running off the ball. I was surprised he didn't start but maybe it will take him time to get into it."
