Sadio Mane has completed his £36m transfer from Southampton to Liverpool, and becomes the fifth player to move to Anfield from the south coast in recent years.
In fact Southampton have sold an entire first team worth £142.2m over the last three years, and this does not even include the Mane sum.
For a club that has sold the likes of Gareth Bale, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott in the last decade, big-money transfers are nothing new.
Despite regular disruption, the south coast club have enjoyed plenty of success, achieving back-to-back record Premier League point totals and boasting one of the country's most successful academies.
But they have lost two high-profile managers - Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman - in as many seasons and a number of first-team stars too.
We take a look at some of the players who have left the Saints over the last three seasons to see how they're getting on now…
Artur Boruc - Bournemouth, free
The veteran Poland international joined Eddie Howe's newly promoted side from Southampton last summer.
Many did not fancy Bournemouth to stay up but they did and Boruc played a key role. His seven clean sheets in 32 games do not tell the whole story as his experience at the top level helped his side stay away from trouble.
Nathaniel Clyne - Liverpool, £12.5m
Clyne has become a fixture in the Anfield starting XI and was unlucky not to play a bigger part for England in Euro 2016.
The Liverpool defence has come under heavy criticism recently but no blame has been placed on the 25-year-old and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his fine form continues.
Dejan Lovren - Liverpool, £20m
After a poor start, Lovren recovered to become a key player under Klopp and was hugely inspirational during their run to the Europa League final. The 26-year-old scored the winner in the dramatic 4-3 win over Borussia Dortmund.
Calum Chambers - Arsenal, £16m
This transfer surprised many pundits at the time, but Arsene Wenger liked what he saw of the then 19-year-old defender.
After initially impressing at the Emirates, Chambers' career at Arsenal has stalled. Both he and Wenger seem unsure of his best position but he is still young enough to improve.
Luke Shaw - Manchester United, £27m
Another academy product to leave Southampton while still a teenager, Shaw went to Old Trafford amid much hype. His first season under Louis van Gaal was difficult, with the Dutchman unhappy with his left-back's fitness levels.
Shaw worked hard to improve and was looking great until a horrific leg break ended his second season at United last September.
Adam Lallana - Liverpool, £25m
Lallana arrived with big expectations after eight years at Southampton and under Klopp is starting to deliver on a more consistent basis.
He impressed for England during Euro 2016 and Liverpool fans will hope he can help deliver silverware to Anfield next season.
Morgan Schneiderlin - Manchester United, £25m
The midfielder has not been able to replicate his fine form at St Mary's for his new club so far. The 26-year-old has been in and out of the United first XI but under Jose Mourinho will be hoping to become a stalwart over the next 12 months.
Victor Wanyama - Tottenham, £11m
The uncompromising Kenyan recently got his wish to join up with former boss Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane.
Wanyama was linked with a move away from St Mary's last summer but was persuaded to stay and had a fine season. Spurs fans will be hoping for more of the same.
Jason Puncheon - Crystal Palace, £1.7m
Following a successful loan spell at Palace, Puncheon moved permanently to Selhurst Park in January 2014 and has become a fan favourite. He helped establish Palace in the Premier League and even scored in the FA Cup final last May.
Dani Osvaldo - Porto, free
Much was expected of the Italy international after moving from Roma in a club-record deal.
Just 166 days later Osvaldo was sent on loan to Juventus after an incident with captain Jose Fonte. Southampton cancelled Osvaldo's contract and he went to Porto but only lasted a year before joining Boca Juniors.
Rickie Lambert - Liverpool, £4m
Despite his heroic status at St Mary's, Lambert could not turn down the chance to join his boyhood club Liverpool. Sadly for him he did not settle at Anfield and found his first-team chances limited.
He only lasted a year before he was sold to West Brom, where again he has not been able to reproduce his Southampton form.
