Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed he will hold talks over his future at the club at the end of the season.

The Dutchman has a season to run on the three-year deal he signed on replacing Mauricio Pochettino in the summer of 2014.

And with Saints on course for a second successive top-seven finish, Koeman is ready to sit down with director of football Les Reed to discuss his position.

He said: "I had a short talk yesterday afternoon with Les Reed about the future and I said 'let's have a coffee and a talk after the Crystal Palace game'.

"After the season it is normal that you talk about this season and or course everybody knows I have one year left on my contract. If the club wants to have a talk about that, I will listen. That is what I like to do."

Saints host Palace on the final day, but before that is a Super Sunday trip to White Hart Lane to take on Pochettino's Tottenham, whose chances of winning the Premier League disappeared with Monday's stormy 2-2 draw at Chelsea.

"Maybe both teams were a little big too worked up for that game," Koeman said, "but some teams pay fantastic football - one is Tottenham and one is Southampton. That makes it nice because it's all about football."

Koeman takes his side to London on the back of eight goals in two games, while Shane Long has three in his last four and 10 in the Premier League for the first time.

"I remember when Shane came," Koeman said. "In all aspects of football he's learned a lot. He's more complete as a striker - his pace, his timing, his movements are full of confidence.

"He's a big example that you can learn every day even when you are 26, 27, 28."
