Nuno Espirito Santo dismissed suggestions of an FA Cup semi-final hangover after Wolves were beaten 3-1 at Southampton on Saturday.
Wolves blew a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Watford in painful fashion at Wembley last weekend.
They could not bounce back at St Mary's as they were outplayed by Saints, who scored twice in the first half through Nathan Redmond.
Nuno told Sky Sports: "We have to do a deep analysis, we didn't perform well.
"Our defensive organisation was very bad. We made mistakes from the beginning of the game, we never stabilised or controlled the game.

"Mistakes happen and we have to know why. Sometimes it is not only concentration, it is intensity and the fight for the ball. Clearly nothing to say [that is] because we didn't win the semi-final, it is a different game, different challenges, let's look at the game as it was.
"Southampton were better than us and they beat us."
The defeat leaves Wolves eighth in the Premier League as they failed to take advantage of losses for top-seven rivals Everton and Leicester.
They are now set to travel to Spain for a training camp before their final five games of the season.
"It was planned a month ago," said Nuno about the break. "We plan for the positive and to build up and become better, now it's the other way round and we need to regroup and finding ourselves again in a good spirit to face this five games that we have left.
"We have to bounce back, especially in the way we perform."
