West Brom striker Rickie Lambert is excited by new signing Salomon Rondon, and expects him to be a success at the club.
Lambert, 33, joined the club on a two-year contract in July and has been joined by Rondon, who moved from Zenit St Petersburg on August 10.
Rondon made his debut as a substitute in the 0-0 Premier League draw with Watford last weekend as the Baggies recorded no shots on target in that game.
But speaking to Soccer Saturday ahead of his side's Super Sunday clash with Chelsea, Lambert believes the Venezuela international has a big part to play for West Brom this season.
"He's got a bit of everything," said the England international.
He (Rondon) looks like a very intelligent player... his goalscoring record is very good so up to now, it's exciting.
"He can hold the ball up, he can make the runs in behind. (He) looks like a very intelligent player as well, his goalscoring record is very good so up to now it's exciting.
"He's going to get better and fitter. My first impression when he came off the bench in the second half against Watford was very good."
West Brom recently rejected an £18m offer from Tottenham for Saido Berahino, but chairman Jeremy Peace says the club have no interest in selling the 22-year-old, and Lambert hopes his team-mate stays at the club.
"He is massive. He's a very big character, in and around the club. He should score goals, he's a very good player on the pitch as well so he has everything going for him. He's a very important asset to have." He said.
"Obviously, as a team-mate, I want him to stay. I want him to help us score goals this season and hopefully that's the case."
And Lambert, who departed Liverpool to play more matches, is confident he can contribute goals as well.
"It's a nice feeling being relied on, that's what I've been used to all my career and that's where confidence comes from as well." He said.
"Self-belief is one of my main pluses and I think it's only a matter of time before I get back to scoring goals again and contributing assists and hopefully that starts again."
