Jamie Carragher sat down with West Brom boss Tony Pulis ahead of his side's Premier League clash with Chelsea

Tony Pulis wants to stay manager of West Brom for the long run, and says the club's rebuilding is still in process.

West Brom have started the season by picking up one point in two games, and face champions Chelsea on Super Sunday having already lost 3-0 to Manchester City on the opening weekend.

Pulis, who led the club to 13th place last season after joining in January, insists the transitional phase is ongoing.

Speaking to Sky Sports' Jamie Carragher on Super Sunday, Pulis said: "I'd love to be here for the next three or four years. It's a good club.

"There are certain things here I'd like to change, and you always think you can improve.

"But as a football club it is so well set up. The chairman Jeremy Peace has run it as good as any club I've been at."

The Baggies have kept hold of striker Saido Berahino so far in the window while bringing in Salomon Rondon from Zenit for around £12m, as well as James Chester, Rickie Lambert, James McClean and Serge Gnabry on loan.

But Pulis insists there is still much work to be done at the club, though the future looks bright at the Hawthorns.

"We're trying to clear certain things out and trying to plant things so the seed grows and gets stronger and stronger.

"You need time, and one thing you don't get in football if you're not picking up points is time."
