West Brom are interested in signing Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson, according to Sky sources.
The 24-year-old was a standout performer and an ever-present for Boro last season in what was their first campaign back in the top-flight since 2009.
Boro kept 11 clean sheets last season with Gibson at the heart of their defence, but their failings in front of goal saw them return to the Sky Bet Championship.
Gibson was also rewarded with his first England call-up in March.
West Brom have made three signings so far this summer, with Jay Rodriguez, Zhang Yuning and Ahmed Hegazy arriving at the Hawthorns.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis expressed his desire to add further to his squad following the 2-0 Premier League Asia Trophy loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
"We have three or four other targets we are desperate for. We are juggling with two at the moment," he said.
"Hopefully by the time we get back home we will have done those two."
