Tony Pulis talks after West Brom's 2-2 draw with Burnley

West Brom boss Tony Pulis praised Salomon Rondon's attitude after the striker ended his five-month goal drought in the 2-2 draw at Burnley.

Rondon had not scored since netting a hat-trick against Swansea on December 14, but was on hand to level for West Brom after Sam Vokes put Burnley ahead.

It was West Brom's first goal in eight hours and 51 minutes of football, and they then took the lead 12 minutes later through Craig Dawson's header.

And while the Baggies could not see out the victory - with Vokes heading in a late equaliser - Pulis was delighted to see his side back among the goals.

"It's a difficult place to come. You only have to look at their results here this season to see that. They play brilliantly, word hard and everyone gives a go," said Pulis.

"But we're a little disappointed having gone ahead to concede from a set-piece late on.

"The majority of people understand that we've only really had two strikers with Hal [Robson-Kanu] injured. It has been Salomon carrying the weight of the world at times.

"We have created chances in games and not taken them. We scored two today but could have had more.

"You have to carry on, and Salomon has been fantastic. His attitude in training, his commitment to work for this group has been wonderful."

West Brom lost Jonny Evans early in the second half to an ankle injury, but Pulis said he hopes the defender will be fit to return for their Friday Night Football clash with Chelsea.

Meanwhile, with their Premier League safety secured weeks ago, Pulis opted to give 18-year-old Sam Field a run-out in midfield, and the boss had nothing but admiration for the England U19 player's showing.

"Sam is going to be a tremendous player," Pulis added. "The way Burnley put you under pressure, it will be different to the way other teams play. But I thought he was smashing today."
