Tony Pulis hailed his players after West Brom beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Hawthorns

Tony Pulis said West Brom took advantage of Arsenal's zonal marking in their 3-1 victory on Saturday.

Craig Dawson scored twice from corners at The Hawthorns as the Baggies ended a run of back-to-back league defeats.

Alexis Sanchez cancelled out the defender's opener before substitute Hal Robson-Kanu put West Brom back in front, and Dawson sealed the win with his second headed goal 15 minutes from time.

Jamie Redknapp and Thierry Henry both criticised Arsenal's marking when speaking to Sky Sports after the match and Pulis felt his side made the most of their defensive system.

"They mark zonal, they have a line of players inside the box and they have two to block people," Pulis said.

"If you can get across that block then you are running on top of people who are standing. Dawson has two goals doing that today.

"It doesn't just happen, you need to have the quality of ball into the box and you need to have someone who wants to head it. We have an abundance of them.

"Daws [Dawson] should have scored a lot more goals from set-plays this year but the great thing is he has two today."

Reaction from West Brom's goalscorers Craig Dawson and Hal Robson-Kanu after the Baggies' 3-1 win over Arsenal

Robson-Kanu, who has played second fiddle to Salomon Rondon for much of the season, found the net less than two minutes after coming off the bench and Pulis paid tribute to the striker's patience.

"This is a really good group of players, they are a pleasure to work with," Pulis added. "They go out on the training ground every day and work very, very hard.

"They deserve everything they get. We have 43 points and that's absolutely fantastic. If we can get some more, then brilliant.

"Hal has been a back-up all season to Salomon and has had to wait for his chance but every time I've put him on, he's always done fantastically well."
