Tony Pulis insists Saido Berahino will stay at West Brom for the long-term, amid continued speculation over his future at the club.
Berahino will seek talks with chairman Jeremy Peace over the next few weeks, according to Sky sources, after he was not sold during the transfer window despite interest from Newcastle and Stoke.
Pulis opted to leave Berahino on the bench against Swansea after he was unable to fully shake off a dead leg. He did though manage to make a substitute appearance in the 1-1 draw after being brought on in the 62nd minute.
And the West Brom boss explained the Midlands club have an option to extend Berahino's contract and he is only interested in what the striker can now bring to his side for the rest of the season.
"It will down die now, don't worry about that," Pulis told Sky Sports.
"They can do nothing about it. He has got 18 months to two years left on his contract, we've got an option on that as well. He's come on and I know he has got a little bit of a dead leg but he has run around and done well for us.
"We want the kid to stay. When you are lacking goals like we have done over the last couple of months, especially when you've created good opportunities, you need someone like Saido to get us those goals."
West Brom had a frustrating evening in front of goal after failing to make the most of the 18 shots they had produced and Pulis wants his team to start being more clinical with their shots.
He added: "The way [Swansea] play you knew the game was going to be open but you also have to concede that they are going to get opportunities as well and Ben [Foster] has made two good saves.
"Overall we're disappointed with the opportunities, chances and the clear-cut chances we've had, not to get more than one goal."
