Preston midfielder Paul Gallagher returns from suspension for the visit of Bolton.

But the hosts will be without Ryan Ledson, who starts a three-match ban of his own following his sending-off at Leeds in midweek.

Captain Tom Clarke is back in the fold having missed the last two games with a groin injury, while Alan Browne is available after a scan earlier in the week revealed no significant problem. Calum Woods and Sean Maguire (both hamstring) and Billy Bodin (knee) all remain unavailable.

Bolton manager Phil Parkinson has no new injury concerns as everyone has trained throughout the week but may consider changes after last weekend's first Championship defeat of the season.

Parkinson was criticised for making five alterations ahead of the loss at Sheffield United but is unlikely to retain an unchanged side at Deepdale. Summer signing Erhun Oztumer could come into the starting line-up.
