Victor Anichebe showed his sense of humour after Sunderland's 2-1 win at Bournemouth by posting a tongue-in-cheek tweet.

After Sunderland's defeat to West Ham on October 22, Anichebe was criticised for his social media mishap when he copied and pasted a message sent to him on Twitter.

The tweet read: "Can you tweet something like: Unbelievable support yesterday and great effort by the lads! Hard result to take! But we go again!"

Anichebe responded on Saturday evening by taking to Twitter once again after his man-of-the-match display by intentionally posting a similar message.

He tweeted: "Can you put something like!' What a result!!! Strong character from the team, and the fans were amazing!! #safc."

Anichebe scored his first league goal in 465 days during Sunderland's dramatic victory at the Vitality Stadium, but at full-time he shifted the praise on to manager David Moyes.

"We did this for the manager, over he last few weeks we have not done him justice," Anichebe told Sky Sports

"It has been a huge transition from last year to this one. For all the work the manager has done, this one was for him. He is the one who has been getting the blame, even though we are the ones on the pitch.

"You could see by the reaction at the final whistle. We have wanted this result for so long. It was a must-win game, even when we were down to 10 men, we didn't sulk we grinded it out. The first half I cracked my rib, I couldn't move properly."
