Match in a Minute: Sunderland 1-1 West Brom
Saturday 1 October 2016 20:25, UK
We gave Charlie Nicholas just 60 seconds to discuss the 1-1 draw between Sunderland and West Brom at the Stadium of Light.
The Sky Sports pundit watched an interesting match unfold, as Sunderland secured just their second point of the Premier League season.
The hosts made a bright start to the contest but Jermain Defoe squandered a fantastic opportunity to give them an early advantage.
And West Brom struck 10 minutes before the interval, Nacer Chadli coming up with a very composed finish after he had been played in on goal by Matt Phillips.
Defoe continued to look like Sunderland's most likely provider of a goal but the hosts endured a frustrating second-half and looked like they were going to slip to another home defeat, having thrown away a 2-0 lead against Crystal Palace last week.

However, the impressive Duncan Watmore had other ideas and, with just seven minuted remaining, he teed up Patrick van Aanholt, whose shot hit the ground before bouncing up into the net to earn a point for the struggling Black Cats.
