Chelsea move would be a 'dream' for Emanuele Giaccherini

Emanuele Giaccherini's agent has said a move to Chelsea to work under Antonio Conte would be a "dream" - but he suggested they have not enquired.

The 31-year-old Sunderland attacker shone during Euro 2016 with Italy as Conte's side were knocked out on penalties by Germany in the quarter-finals.

Giaccherini spent last season on loan in Serie A with Bologna after a disappointing two years on Wearside, and his representative - Furio Valcareggi - claims there is interest from Bologna, Torino and Fiorentina in taking him permanently.

But "if Chelsea were to call, Chelsea would be a dream", Valcareggi told Gazzetta Dello Sport.

He said: "Unfortunately we don't [have an agreement with Torino]. There has been contact and interest.

"Torino have taken note of the costs and how the transfer would have to be done, and now they are considering it.

"But this also applies to Fiorentina and Bologna, who are gathering information before moving on."

Tuscany-born Giaccherini signed for Sunderland from Juventus in 2013, where he had spent two years and won five trophies, including two Serie A titles, working under Conte.

He was signed by former Black Cats manager Paolo Di Canio for £6.5m but has made just 18 Premier League starts and scored four goals under four managers.
