Fabio Borini says he desperately wants to score against his former club Liverpool, when they visit the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.
Borini moved to Anfield for £10.5m in the summer of 2012 but made just eight appearances during a three-year period - much of it on loan away from Merseyside.
Speaking to the Sunderland Echo, Borini said: "Obviously, the goals give you a little bit of confidence but at the end of the day, all that matters is the result.

"Yes, I'd like to score against Liverpool. More than anyone else. I've said everything I want to already about my time there. But these games are huge for us."
He added: "We're not starting games well and we need to focus on the first halves and make sure we are still in the game in the second half.
"When you give the first half away against the big teams, they take their chances.
"Now we're playing at home. This period is busy so you have to make sure you recover well.
"That's the most important thing. That we forget about Saturday and make sure we're ready for Wednesday night."
