Jonathan Grounds and Tomasz Kuszczak will remain at Birmingham City after the club extended their contracts.

Grounds would have seen his current deal expire this summer, but Birmingham have taken up the option to keep the 29-year-old until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Former Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Kuszczak has signed a new two-year contract at St Andrew's, with the club having the option to extend the deal by a further year.

Kuszczak made 38 appearances for Birmingham this season, while Grounds has also been a consistent performer for the Sky Bet Championship club since joining from Oldham in 2014, with no player making more first-team appearances than the defender this season.

Left-back Grounds, who also deputises at centre-back when required, scored the first goal in Birmingham's first win under Harry Redknapp - a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield - helping the club avoid relegation to League One.

Redknapp, who has agreed a one-year deal to remain Birmingham manager for next season, selected Grounds in all three of his matches in temporary charge of the club between April and May.
