Departing Watford boss Walter Mazzarri has left the door open to a return to the Premier League in the future.
The Italian's last game in charge of the Hornets ended in humiliation as his injury-plagued squad were thrashed 5-0 by top-four chasing Manchester City.
"I have had a lot of satisfaction this year," Mazzarri told Sky Sports. "It has been a fantastic experience.
"Of course, if there is a team that would make me competitive enough in this league then I would think about it. If not, I will have to make another decision."
Asked to reflect on his first season in English football, he added: "When we had our full squad we were seventh in the league then things started to happen with injuries.
"We reached 40 points with six games left and we were 10th in the table. Two days ago I realised we were going to be without six defenders.
"That has never happened in my career but that is the summary of the season."
Mazzarri entered his final game as Watford boss with a severely depleted squad, with six defenders missing or suspended.
That forced the Italian's hand into fielding a makeshift team, with three academy players making their first-team debuts.
"I'm very there were three youngsters that played against Manchester City," Mazzarri said. "Two days ago they were dreaming of playing a game like this so I'm happy for them.
"But anyone who understands football will understand it is impossible to play against Manchester City with a line-up like this.
"With the difference in line-ups I would like to thank the fans, they were very patient and supported everyone, especially the young ones that went in today and the survivors we had on the pitch.
"It was not easy because usually when you lose it's not easy for anyone so my thanks go to the fans. "
